Art in Barcelona
14 days – Spring or Summer Break 2018-2019
From Gothic and Romanesque to Picasso, Tapies and Miro
Why we think that Art students should come and join this faculty-led tour?
Catalonia is a region of North East Spain situated between the Pyrenees Mountains and the Mediterranean sea. Experience first hand the rich cultural history of Spain and the importance of European value-added art and architecture in Barcelona and surroundings.
Creativity in Catalonia is mostly in the art world, especially art and architecture. Dalí, Picasso and Miró are part of Barcelona’s culture, as well as Architect Gaudi, of course, but many others like Tapies and Barceló in more recent years.
Visits to Museums and famous buildings from different time periods will be the highlights of this tour, as well as a painting session with a professional artist in his studio. You will be able to paint with him, learn different techniques and learn first hand what art is about in real life.
We will also spend a few days near the Costa Brava and Girona where three Dali Museums will be part of our route as well as
Every day will be dedicated to a different theme.
Overview
Art in Barcelona is the perfect option for art students to get in touch directly and for two weeks with one of the most culturally stimulating cities in the world. In this program students will stay in the very safe area with easy access from the central Plaza Catalunya square.
